Is Silencezap free to use?
Yes. Every transcript is free, with no account, no sign-up and no limit on how many links you paste.
Which links work?
YouTube Shorts links, youtu.be short links and standard youtube.com/watch links. Private, deleted or age-restricted videos can't be read.
Why does it say no captions were found?
Silencezap reads the caption track that YouTube publishes with a video. If the creator disabled captions and YouTube generated none, there is no text to fetch.
How accurate is the transcript?
Creator-uploaded captions are usually near-perfect. Auto-generated captions follow YouTube's speech recognition, so background music, accents and fast speech can cause small errors.
Can I get the transcript in another language?
If the video carries more than one caption track, a language selector appears above the transcript and you can switch between them.
Can I download the transcript?
Yes — copy it to your clipboard in one click, or download it as a plain .txt file with or without timestamps.
